Short version

Your text stays in your browser. We don't store what you type. We use basic analytics to understand traffic patterns, not to profile you.

What we collect

Text you enter: Processed locally in your browser for word counting. Not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly use a feature that requires it (none currently do).

Local storage:If auto-save is enabled, drafts are stored in your browser's localStorage on your device only.

Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics for privacy-focused page view counts (no personal identification, no text content). This helps us understand which pages are useful so we can improve the site.

Contact form:If you email us, we keep your message to respond. We don't sell email addresses.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for site functionality. Analytics cookies, if any, can be blocked via your browser settings without affecting the word counter.

GDPR rights (EU/UK users)

You have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. Since we don't store your text, there's usually nothing to delete beyond contact correspondence. Email hello@word-counter.online for requests.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
